The Chicago Biomedical Consortium’s (CBC) Catalyst Award program offers funding of up to $250,000 for one- or two-year new inter-institutional collaborative research projects. Projects should address important areas of basic biological/biomedical or translational research that are risky, innovative, and potentially transformative. Catalysts are not intended to support incremental progress, obvious next steps, or NIH-ready projects. Applicants submitting projects with translational potential will be required to submit a statement regarding the unmet clinical need and the potential impact on human health. The CBC is a partnership for research and education collaborations between UChicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
