Pilot and Collaborative Translational and Clinical Studies



The ITM provides internal funding for three types of translational and clinical studies involving ITM investigators. Please note that no indirect costs will be awarded to subaward organizations.  Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss biostatistics plans with Dr. Ted Karrison and DSMP plans with Dr. Gary Toback prior to submitting application for consideration.

Pilot funds are available for …

  • Clinical and Translational Human Subjects Studies, $40,000 for 1 year, proposed research must involve human subjects - i.e., require IRB approval or IRB exemption
  • Community Collaborative Research Studies, $50,000 for 1 year, must include investigators from both UC and the Community
  • Short-term Studies by Post-doctoral Clinician-Scientists, $5,000 for 1 year, restricted to clinician-scientists in training (residents or post-doctoral fellows, or equivalent)
  • Collaborative Studies Among NorthShore University HealthSystem and UC Researchers, awards up to $75,000 for 1 year, must include investigators from both UC and North-Shore University HealthSystem
  • Preclinical Pilot Translational Studies, $40,000 for 1 year, intended for preclinical studies of biology or drug or device development

 

Applications deadlines can be found within the RFA.
