Core Support & Technology
The Core Support and Technology Cluster (Core Cluster) provides service and education in a wide range of biological sample analyses, translational technology development capabilities, informatics support, and human subject interactions. The Cluster implements four key CTSA functions: (1) Translational Technologies and Resources, (2) Development of Novel Clinical and Translational Methodologies, (3) Participant and Clinical Interactions Resources (former General Clinical Research Center now called Clinical Resource Center, CRC), and (4) Biomedical Informatics. This Cluster also oversees the review and awarding of all proposals to utilize the resources of the Core Cluster including the CRC as well as the Pilot and Collaborative Translational and Clinical Studies. This funding mechanism incentivizes new collaborative research projects by ITM trainees and investigators at UC, our allied institutions, and the Community, and is the home for the majority of the resources formerly provided within the GCRC.
