The University of Chicago Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) improves people’s health by converting biomedical research into health improvement.
It does so by providing researchers and community organizations with funding, training and other resources and by forging unexpected connections across departments, universities and special interest groups.
ITM is one of more than 60 medical research institutions across more than 30 states funded by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). As part of the NCATS Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program, ITM collaborates with brilliant minds across disciplines and with partners like Northshore University Health System, Argonne National Laboratory, the Illinois Institute for Technology, Rush University Medical Center, South Side Chicago communities, and others.
